China really isn't prosporing they are just begining to allow a capitalist system infuse into their communist system.

No one really knows if communism really works because no one has ever let it operate without outside influences trying to bring it down. Cuba/China/USSR have always been under economic attack by countries that are pro-capitilast. I think it could work if we actually tried it with a sincere effort.

China did not prosper under communism. China is now trying a "free market". Until about 10 years ago, China was a country that its economy was in dire straits, therefore, the communism party decided to allow supply and demand (price and kind of goods set by consumer) in most markets. The Chinese economy started to rise at that time. Although, most of the leaders in authority were and are members of the communism party (which is a political party), the Chinese market is become more and more consumer driven each day.

They're starting to prosper as they open up to free economy ideas.

Communism, just like capitalism, is bad when you go to the extremes. And if you grow up with one, you're bound to hear a lot of people that think the other is bad purely on principal. The reality is that economically, some combination of the two is probably the best bet.

They're not prospering because of Communism--rather, in spite of it. They have a burgeoning middle class because of relaxed governmental restrictions and control of individuals' lives. They are, in fact, prospering because of free market capitalism, albeit owned and operated by the government. They maintain strict enough controls over individual citizens' lives that they still dictate maximum wages, thus ensuring cheaper production costs. They ensure the price undercutting of similar products made elsewhere where the employees are actually paid a living wage. Really great, huh? Yeah, right.

China, propering? Are you kiddin' me or yourself? Look at the people of China, they're starving and treat them like craps. This Free-Trade with very low labor wages attracts businesses from Socialist countries. China utlilized their minor ages for much lesser amount not even good enough for a day food.
Keep in mind that China was no longer a commie- country, only by name it is.
