Does a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier, have shocks or struts on the rear. Any idea on the cost to replace?

Thanks

I checked with a mechanic, apparently a 2000 Chev. Cavalier, 2.2 litre has struts on the back. Struts - $71.99 each, plus alignment, plus labour, plus strut mounts will come to a whopping total of $581.00 cdn + 14% tax. My car's only worth $3000 bucks, but I don't have money to buy a new one. This sucks! Any suggestions?

Just about all midsize and compact cars now have struts on all 4 wheels. the cost to have them replaced is about 45 per strut and then labor to remove and install. Locate a good shop with good rates and have them do the work. Most shops will offer referances if you request them. I would estimate the repair to be around 150 for the rear. 300 for all 4.

Your car has shocks in back. KYB makes them they go for about $90 each. Labor is about $80 or so.
