Most preg tests wouldn't detect anything a week b4 period is due - I'd recommend taking another one now that you are due. That said, you probably wouldn't be experiencing preg symptoms this early on - most wouldn't start for another few weeks - prob just a virus you have.

I am going thru the same thing. Abdominal pressure, whitish discharge, heavy, tender breasts..period is not due until next week, bu i took a test anyway, came out negative, and the addt'l line that would have made the test positive was faint. I would suggest taking another preg test soon as if you are pregnant the hcg hormone may be stronger and may produce a positive test. I would also suggest taking an ovulation test as well, if that comes out positive it is a good chance u are pregnant, as you are not ovulating when you should be on your period. Also go to some website and type in early pregnancy symptoms and compare those to what u are feeling/experiencing. Good luck!

It is possible to be either way. Your body is capable of presenting a "fake" pregnancy. Especially if you believe you are or really want to be. Also like another yahoo'er stated, a pregnancy test ussually won't be correct until you are past a certain point after conception. Your more certain way to know is to wait until after the first day of your missed period and take a test. (Like now) Also, if you are pregnant then light spotting is very normal for some women. For some even having a normal period or two after conception may be normal. With my first two children I had one normal period after conception. It scared me to death for fear of miscarrage, but I had them none the less. (Doctor had already confirmed pregnancy early) Also, if you are still concerned then the best thing is to schedule an appt with an OBGYN and have a blood test requested. Even if you are not pregnant there could be other factors causing your missed period.
Not to overstep any bounds, this additional comment is just because of my own personal experiences. If you don't want to get pregnant, then the "pulling out" method should not even be considered birth control. This may be news to some people, but you can even get pregnant if the semen is ejaculated on the outside as in the "pulling out" method or in masterbation with your partner. ANY sperm that finds it's way inside can in theory cause a pregnancy. Also, a man normally has some pre-ejaculate that escapes before he is at the point of knowing he needs to pull out. While this pre-ejaclulate has less of a chance of causing pregnancy, it still can. The smartest thing to do if you are not pregnant and do not want to become pregnant is to go get put on the pill, use a condom, or some other more certain form of birth control.
I hope this helps and that all goes well in your journey. If pregnancy is what you want then may God bless you, child rearing is a long and painful road (but well worth every moment)! If you do not wish to be pregnant then I hope that God will be with you in what ever happens. Know that no matter what children are a blessing from God, never to be taken for granted.

You could be pregnant. Pregnancy tests are very sensitive to the HCG levels in your urine however you can still get a negative result if you took the test too early. You need to retake the test again if you go two weeks without your period. Sometimes you do spot around the time of your period when your pregnant. I did when I was pregnant with my last child.

When I was pregnant I knew I was pregnant, I was sick all day, I had excessive saliva in my mouth and I felt nauseous everyday all day.I didn't even have to take a pregnancy test cause I just new. You can be pregnant and still bleed it just will be light bleeding. It sounds like you are pregnant but I would still go to the doctor if I were u.

take another pregnancy test. Symptoms of pregnancy and menstraion onsett are simular. Light Spotting may also indicate a pregnancy as your period is due. The Withdrawal method is also a old and unsucessfull and does not protect you from STD's.
Change your methods of contraception to protect you from any unwanted pregnancy. Its as simple as that

Take another test. I took one five days before I was supposed to start my period, and it came back negative too. However, I took one a few days after I didn't have my period, and it was positive. I am pregnant. It sounds like you are too.

Wait a few days, it might all change. And in the future if you don't want to a child use condoms or the pill.
