As one of life's singles, may I suggest joining a very good sports and health club where even If like me, you are perhaps not sporty minded, but want to meet like minded people in all sorts of roles, this can be the answer.
I joined about two months ago and their extra activities are endless (once you are into the exercise, at you own levels, talk to the admin staff about starting up a group dealing with people like your self who would love to meet you and others who by now needs your gained confidence) Exercise is so good for everyone< giving you new confidence relieving stress etc.
Only the other day I was at the bar, buying a coffee, and lo and behold this lovely sweet young lady started to engage me in encouraging conversation. If I may suggest a club its the Esporta, you may have one in Belfast, check it out Good Luck .

Why don't you go out with your partner? Or ask him to introduce you to people, as clearly your partner is from Belfast and must have friends and connections in the area. Ask him or his parents to either introduce you to family friends or recommend stuff that you could do. Belfast is a lively and thriving city - there's bound to be night-classes, theatre, gigs etc that you can go to. The Waterfront Hall is a great venue, always thronged with interesting events. Just don't be so shy and use the contacts you already have to get yourself started. Good luck.

Too old at 32?! No way are you too old. I desire i became 32 back - sigh... i'm 40 4 and attempting to commence back (now it really is way tougher, believe me). that is all about activities. it really is time to commence transferring into new activities you not in any respect even dreamed of doing till now. go outdoors your convenience zone... ie someplace except bars and Starbucks (sorry no offense meant). go horse using, ice skating, help at an animal safeguard, change into fascinated in an newbie dramatic club/society, or do in basic terms something outrageous which will make you renowned or wealthy (certain way if you're quite - take your clothing off in an aeroplane at 30,000 ft and walk up and down the aisle. you'd be arrested on touchdown and get instantly onto all the communicate shows interior of 24 hours. do not believe me? attempt it). So... imagine sideways, carry out a touch interesting issues, and also you may't fail to fulfill some interesting human beings. good luck :)

People aren't going to come knocking on your door, looking for you! As hard as it sounds, you will have to socially stretch yourself. Start doing little things. Try the next door neighbours. People are nice. They won't be hard on you for being shy, in fact, they might make more of an effort to tease you out!
Good Luck
