To compare them is almost as odd as Shakespeare comparing his loved one to a summer's day. My heart beats at the thought of Piazza del Duomo and the intricate brickwork and supreme quality of the buildings, but Trafalgar Square is part of my childhood, as my route to school took me through it twice a day. It may not look so beautiful, but there is tremendous symbolism in Nelson's column, erected by public subscription; in the statues of Charles I and Edith Cavell, with all they represent, at either end; in the Square's position, with vistas of Pall Mall, Whitehall and Northumberland Avenue; and to crown it all, there are the elegant buildings of St Martin in the Fields, the National Gallery and the National Portrait Gallery. No, I'm afraid that the influence of my formative years makes me inclined towards Trafalgar Square, admire though I do Piazza del Duomo.

Neither bus, nor taxi. The historic centre of Florence is small, you have just to stroll 10 minutes (all instantly: by potential of using Por Santa Maria, by potential of using Calimala, by potential of using Roma). do no longer believe cafes very near to the Duomo: they're often very touristy and intense priced. the ideal cafés are interior the little streets, exceedingly those attended by potential of Florentines better than by potential of travelers.

there is room in my appreciation for both but it is often warmer in Florence! Trafalgar Square is more than just Nelson's column.... e.g. the National Gallery, also what about the famous pigeons!

Ive never been to Florence, but i have tasted pizza in Italy. Pizza in Italy must have to be the best in da world. Even tho i live in London and i must support my home, i think Italian pizza beats any other pizza from round the world.

Yes, of course it is. You have the Baptistery, Giotto's tower, the Duomao itself and all Trafalgar Square has is Nelson's Column and a few fountains
