President Bush Just said we won't leave Iraq until we have obtained complete victory, How does Bush think this is possible when Iraq is constantly being invaded by terrorists from Neighboring Countries. I am watching his speach right now...and to me it just doesn't seem possible to have a victory in a country like iraq. What do you guys think?

You cannot compare Germany and Japan to Iraq...Iraq is much much much different...Germany was the country that was doing the attacking..much like Japan...neither country was at risk of being invaded. So how is victory possible in this situation.

I agree, You cannot compare Japan and Germany to Iraq at all....To me it seems like a good comparison would be this....your standing in the middle of a circle and your defending your friend(iraq) but you seem as you trying to fight off the attackers(Terrorists) you punch your friend on accident sometimes(Killing civilians) that gets ur friend pissed and then he also wants you to leave his country...but if you do...then he will still get his butt kicked...so to me...Iraq is a lose lose situation...and I don't think that there will ever be a solution.

I think you are absolutely correct. We do need to either cut-n-run, or send in enough troops to do the job right. Once again, much like another war 40 years ago, we cannot survive employing half measures. The borders of Iraq must be sealed, the citizens of Iraq must be partitioned. I say either take the political suicide pill and send whatever we need to send to achieve absolute victory, or start the pull out now and have a war in a few more years with whatever terrorist takes over in the vacuum we leave behind.

I can play arm chair general like the majority of libs in this country as well, I think we should look the border of Iraq just as we should our own border. I believe firmly we should entice as many radicals into the open as we can and shoot until the street are running red..

Border security was the problem for stability, Now we have to shut it down south of the US and around the perimeter of Iraq.

While I find many of Bush's coloquilisms amateurish, the alternative "power party" the Dems in charge truly scares me. I am a 48 year old man, I've seen my tax rate go up every year when we had a dem in office and when the congress was controlled by dems, throwing money at problems and not allowing the economy to work..

I hate the fact that entitlement spending continues to go up in a time with a Republican controlled congress, I want to see Social Security reform for my kids sake, I'd hope they'd be able to put that money into retirement they have control of and can pass along to their children.
I'd like to see the end of the IRS and all embedded taxes in favor of a Fair Tax, http://www.fairtax.org/
Dems don't see the importance of individual liberty, and freedom to achieve, they've adopted a collectivist mentality.. JFK is rolling in his grave at his baby brothers ranting.

Like many on either side you either believe what he is saying or you do not.
Victory is possible but will take time for the new government in Iraq to get up to the place they need to be for that to happen. It was several years before that happened in Germany and Japan.

I think you're right, which is why I'd close the borders. You can't establish order if "insurgents" keep coming in from Iran and Syria and disrupting. I'd also send many more troops in there to do things like close the borders and stop traffic. Can't have a car bomb or a drive by attack if there isn't any traffic running.

It's funny!

Wasn't it over 2 years ago that Bush did that photo-op aboard an air-craft carrier whith his now infamous "Mission Accomplished" rhetorical speech?

I guess that "mission accomplished" doesn't mean victory in a Neo-Con's dictionary.

Wasn't the mission to be victorious?

This speech is just one more example of Neo-Con double speak.
