Low energy bulbs are really mini-fluorescents and old style dimmers won't work. There are now others on the market that do.

Check the box the energy light bulb came in. Some do and there are a few that may not.
You can always check the lightbulb manufacturers website for more information.

no no no. they go all wierd and flicker on and off... You may be able to find some that do work with dimmers, but regular energy saving bulbs don't, sorry

they normally turn into strobe lights when you use them with dimmer switches i used to do it for partys

yes but you will pay more for them any way why use an energy saving lamp just dim the existing one
