You can pull up the person's name online and see. That's how I pulled up my uncle and grandfather's reports for some research. You can also call the county's certificate department--public records. Both should be free unless you want official documents.

Depends what country, usually there is a register of deaths where you can apply to do a search. ask at your Town hall.

Contact your state department of vital statistics. Give as much information as you can; name, date of death, place of death, yaddah.
