I don't think there is any difference really as we are all working using the same energy, it's just that people have found different methods that worked for them. I don't think it makes any difference as to which method a person has been trained in. I am a Reiki Master Teacher in Usui-Tibetan reiki. You can find a practitioner by doing a google search on your local area.

I am a Reconstructionist Jew and a Reiki master. I worship G-d only; Reiki is a method of healing and relaxation which does not require any other worship - Reiki is not an alternate religion. I cannot speak for Orthodox Jews, however I suspect that some are not aware of what Reiki is and is not. B'shalom Edit: No offense taken, Mark. To those who wrote in and are not sure what Reiki IS - I explain it this way: there is energy all around us. Reiki allows us to channel this energy in the same way that wires allow us to receive electricity in our homes (which brings up an interesting conundrum on Shabbat!). As a Reiki practitioner, all I do is guide the energy; I do not produce it. I believe the energy is there from G-d, just as is the air we breathe. Hope this helps a bit!

I am a Reiki practitioner who learned through the Usui method. As far as different methods...many practitioners take the basics and make them their own using additional techniques that they find helpful. You can find lots of information and many practitioners on this website... iarp.org It is the International Association of Reiki Practitioners, and is full of really good info.

Hope this helps! I am at windstarhealing.com if you have any questions

Reiki has different traditions or ways of practicing. Usui reiki was founded by Dr Usui (Mikyo Usui I think....?) It it VERY expensive to learn. My mom is a master, so she teaches me for free. She took classes at the local community college
