my eyes use to water when i first started to wear makeup, b/c my eyes werent use to having anything on them. so if you just started wearing it that might be why, youll get use to it. if youve been wearing makeup for a while then its probably the makeup your yuseing maybe your having a slight allergic reaction, stop using that kind of makeup and switch to something better.

This is why they justify testing on animals before marketing the products, to judge the adverse effects the products might cause and what percentage of the people they are likely to affect.
If by 'normal' you mean 'usual', then no is the answer, at least not for eyeshadow made in the USA because if this were true it would never receive approval for manufacturing. If you mean 'can it happen sometimes', then the answer is 'yes'. As with anything put into or on a person's body (medicine, clothing, shampoo, etc.) each individuals reaction to it will be different, and an adverse reaction, if any, can be mild to drastic.
You might be allergic to something in the eyeshadow or your skin might just be sensitive to the ingredient(s). If it's simply sensitive, then your body might adjust to it over time and continued use. If it's allergies, well, some people do outgrow some allergies over time, but you really shouldn't count on this. You should see a dermatologist to determine which case is true for you if you want to know for certain.

You may have allergies. I went to school with a girl who wore makeup for years and then my sophomore year, she broke out in hives and her eyes were always red and watery. Her mom took her to a Dr. and found out she was allergic to certain things in certain brands of makeup. Once they figured out what, she was able to wear makeup again. My suggestion, try Bare escentials the natural makeup. It is a little expensive but works wonderfully. It is NOT heavy and you can sleep with it on. They sell everything from foundations to eye-shadows. Good luck with this. Also, old makeup will cause your eyes to burn and water, making them red. Even though you just bought it, ALWAYS check the date on the packages. Alot of stores don't get rid of expired makeup. They leave it on the shelf until it sells.

It could be your contact lenses (if you do wear them). Once you stop wearing the contact lenses for a while this tearing problem will eventually stop or get less. If this is the case, you might have to stop wearing contact lenses for good.

No. You have allergy to that shadow. Try MAC's shadows. I have very senstive eyes and these are the only ones which do not bother my eyes.
