Because of a muscle that men have called the Sartaurius. This muscle, that females don't have (or it is very small) stretches from the inside of the groin to the top of the knee. It allows women to have greater flexiblitly by not having it and the ability to stretch their legs to greater angles than what men can.

I think they probably can but would maybe have to reposition thier bits so they dont get squashed between the thighs also i think it is a bit like sitting with your legs crossed its just a tad girly

Well when you see a guy sitting in a chair, his ankles crossed and legs tucked under or close to him and an angle, well, in this culture that looks sorta-kinda effeminate, don't you think?

the long and short of this answer is anatomical. the female pelvis is set so that when they have children the pelvis actually moves to allow childbirth. male pelvises do NOT have this feature. the up side of that feature is that they (GG/women) can sit with their legs under them and guys cant.

I have to say, I never thought about it, but maybe it is the fact that they have those little objects between their legs that keep them from being able to get comfortable?

It looks kind of effeminate, but I'm a straight guy and I do it all the time because it's comfortable. There's no squashing of bits involved.
