It really depends on what size you are and how you want to train your waist. I absolutly adore corsets, I know a little bit about them, but not Einstein on the subject.

I have never worn a "true" steel boned corset, but I have a wannabee corset from Fredericks with the hard plastic boning and that gives an idea of corsetry. Hope that helps a bit.

THIS IS A VERY BAD IDEA. You cannot "train" your waist with a corset. What you are doing is actually deforming your bones and possibly causing damage to your internal organs. Your body type and structure is determined by genes. You need to accept that and find a good diet and excercise program to keep you thin. Just wearing a corset is not going to make you skinny and could cause you to be crippled later in life.

Fredericks of Hollywood has a great selection on corsets. I got one for my wedding, and it was fabulous. One you try it on at the store, the sales associate will lace it up in the back, pull it tight, and tie it for you. It has several hooks in the front, so you can put it on even if you're by yourself. However, I did find that she laced it a little tight and I needed to loosen it... I almost passed out after about 30 minutes of trying on wedding dresses in it.
