I think all Americans should have the right to vote, but, I also think that the Women's Liberation Movement opened a wide door to divorce and with that, children being raised without the influence of men in their daily lives, which I think led to violence in our school systems and our neighborhoods.

Steve, I wasn't talking about anything personal. I was just asking a question. I do not have issues, I assure you.
I think I asked a question that was way too serious. I sincerely apologize if I offended anyone.........it was just a question. I will take the thumbs down and go to the freakin corner!

this makes no sense... there aren't laws banning women... besides, women's lib paved the way for unwed mothers, children in broken homes, children that are raised by nannies and grow up hating their parents.... There's a reason that traditionally men make the money and women raise the children. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

When you say women's lib do you mean suffrage?
Hell yes I would vote for women to have the right to vote.
If it were on a ballot that there should be equal pay for equal work...then yes.
I would vote for the ERA...but it will never happen, they have been trying to pass that since the early 1970's.
I am confused by the term "women's lib" it is so broad, general and disingenuous. There are some specific equalities I would vote for, and there are some that are just silly whining.

I can remember womens lib movement when it was fresh and compelling. Then as is the fate of all movements, it became overly politicized and used as a polarizing club. What would a vote for women's lib actually mean today?

Depends on what you mean by women's liberation. Revisionists have been at it. Also, there are different "schools" of women's liberation.
More specifically, what ballot measures are you thinking of? Equal pay for equal work? Abortion? Women in the combat arms? Banning pornography?
Please be more specific. What is your position, and why?

There are many kinds of "women's lib". Some of them I support. Others not.
Read Christina Hoff Somers, "The War Against Boys" and other books by her to learn the difference.

No...women have equal rights as it is. They don't need an amendment to say that.
Also...if women were smart, they could control everything. Women make up 52% of the voters in the US. That's enough to change everything their way.

i have always felt women were equal to me as a man. If all men felt towards women as I do there never would have been a reason to start womens lib.

you have to be more specific. What would this encompass? If you are talking about equal pay for equal job, yes. Abortion - no.
