Think about the definition of an "open fluid system" - open means that stuff can go in and/or out. Now, what is the function of a pump? Stuff has to go in and out, that's what a pump does. So now you can probably figure out if your pump is an open or closed system!

u mean a hydraulic pump?

Perhaps its named as thus cos it works in this way. the fluid in
the system moves and provides the action.
