Great ideas thus far.. I agree with the poster about movies idea.. take the cellophane wraps, (its in all colors now and with holiday decorations),, wrap inside, 2 bags of microwavable popcorn, blockbuster gift card, movie treats, like goobers, starburst and 4 cans of soda, or whatever to drink).. tie in a festive bow..
also,, I've done this with drinking friends, though its' not appropriate for work,, same concept with cellophane,, wrap, coronas, or (bottles of beer), (2), with movie tickets, blockbuster rental cards, lime and a small morton salt.
Did this one year.. (keep warm theme).. buy those cashmere throws (I look for the sales at JCpenny's and even on QVC, or BigLots, and wrap up in cellopane, along with 2 mugs, hot chololate packets,, (just grab 2 out of an already existing box you have, with 2 plastic sppons dipped in melted chocolate, (freeze them, before wrapping, and a certificate to Barns and Noble, bookstore)..
Pampering ideas,, (wrap in cellopane) various bottles of different shades of nail polish, polish remover, cotton balls, qtips, manicure set, cheap flip flops, assorted trial lotions (found in the trial section of most retail stores), bath scent beads/oils, and a few votive candles.
I give to alot of friends, and when I stick to a theme, and use all my creative ways, it saves me money and it's a more thoughtful gift idea.. I've going to take your idea about the BBQ marinades and grilling .. and elaborate on that for me .. sounds great! Be well!

Family entertainment package. This could include movie gift certicates, blockbuster giftcard, tickets to a local event or theme park. In north central Texas we have Holiday in the Park at Six Flags and the Ft Worth Zoo does something too. Just be sure to get enough for each person's family - a lot of times they are sold in a family four pack but, I for one, have a family of seven.

Gifts for family-related events, like a family movie night (dvd, popcorn, blanket to snuggle under) or a family game night (monopoly board, snacks, etc.) might be nice. Also, tickets for family movies or shows or other activities (zoo, museums?) would be fun.
