Less stable countries could use the big one on enemies or sell it to people who would. Now is the time when one bomb could take out hundreds of thousands-if not millions. It's the cold war all over. Except, this time the other side is willing to sacrifice everything. Some say that our using the bomb on Japan saved thousands of American lives and ended the war early. That may been true. There is no way to tell what would have happened if we hadn't use the bomb. I, for one, wish we were not the first and only nation to use such a weapon. U.S. history is not exactly honorable. Then again, most human history isn't very honorable. The good thing is that if, as a world, if we can get through this phase alot of the world's misery could be lessened.

Excellent question. Apart from the US, most countries do not make a habit of attacking other countries. And talking about "giving' other countries a seat at the table is incredible. Who appointed the US as Head of the World, anyway ? The other 95% of the world's population is just as entitled to elect d**kheads as leaders, have nuclear weapons, make trade agreements with each other and do as we please. We don't have to ask the permission of Uncle Sam.
The US is scared because it judges all other countries by its own bellicose standards, and thinks that everyone wants to attack it. Actually, US economic power is waning, we don't care that much about them any more and wish they would just shut up and go home.

The danger that other nations (specially the muslim countries) uses the bomb is high. In the absence of a peaceful Islam it will be very dangerous to leave the bomb in the hands of some maniacs.

For the same reason the settlers (land thieves) of the US were afraid of the native peoples having the gun. It ain't rocket science to figure out that parity in weapons makes conquest much more difficult. The conquest in current affairs is not North Korea but the oil fields worldwide. N. Korea, as a source for nukes to those countries in the oil rich nations is comparable to the gun runners for the native peoples of the US.
Our "friends" the French supplied N Korea with most of its nuke capabilities.

And why do u think it is america that's the only ones that's used it. The only thing that can be said about america is that they are ingorant, and warmongering!. Every president must have his war and Bush is no different.
We all go on and on about these unstable small countries being a large terrorist threat but at the end of the day it is america who are the worry!!

we gave india and pakistan a seat at the table when they developed it, this was a very stupid foreign policy
because every crackpot dictator then decided that was the best way to avoid regime change,
the worry now is that some of the extreme fundamentalist regimes are near to obtaining nuclear power and having just invaded Iraq and afghanistan with regime change in mind we cannot do anything or we will not be taken seriously if we do

Probably because some of the countries are less stable.. however i don't think anyone should possess that kind of destructive power. Look at it this way it was created to be used and one day they will be, Forget all this protection stuff it's a weapon at the end of the day.

If an unstable nation has the bomb and gets ticked off they could possibly blow us all to hell.
I personally don't think any country should have a nuclear bomb....and that includes my country....the USA.

have you been watching the news?!?!
president ahmadinejad is not like the past soviet leaders who threatened us with the bomb. because of mutally assured destruction, the soviets didn't really want to use the bomb. they didn't want their children to die (remember the Sting song?).
president ahmadinejad does not care if iran's children die. he does not care if he dies. he belongs to an organization that is trying to hasten the return of the 12th imam. according to them, the return of the 12th imam will be marked by chaos and destruction. so their intent is to actually use the bomb to wreak destruction to bring the 12th imam.
we are afraid of north korea having the bomb not because we are afraid n. korea will use it (same reason as USSR) but because we fear that the technology or materials will be shared with iran who will use it!
