Not a big fan of Pinella, but I love Alan Trammell.
Do they have what it takes to make The Cubbies
a winner?

Tony, I'm not worried about The Tigers. They're doing just fine.

My dear ms allilue...you really should learn how to READ questions before you answer them. You really should.

Think of it this way, Pinella learned how you manage a team to 116 victories while Trammell hopefully learned some valuable lessions as how not to lead a team to 119 loses. Between the two things should work out pretty good. Still, the big hang up is Cubs management. Those "experts" just have to go! They need baseball people running that franchise, not bean counters worried about the bottom line. All ya gotta down is put a winner on the field and "THEY WILL COME". Hell, they come anyway! Why I couldn't tell you but the Cubs fans deserve a winner for a change!

While I am glad to see Tramm get another chance, unless they can bring Detroit Pistons trainer Arnie Kander with them to help heal the arms/shoulder of Kerry Wood and Mark Prior, the Cubs will struggle again as they need to get more hitting.
While I'm neither a hater nor fan of A-Rod, I think he would be a great fit under the wing of Pinella.

I'm not a big fan of Lou's either. I had thought that Joe Girardi would have been a better choice. I also like Trammell. They have a big situation in front of them. They need more pitching and a couple of seasoned position players before they can make another run only to lose in the ALCS again.

I dont think the cubs would win with Pinella, Trammell and hiring Minaya and Dombrowski as co GM's. The Cubbies are tainted by bad luck & poor ownership.

Sure Piniella and Trammell will help but they need to get Prior &
Wood straightened out and pitching instead of sitting around on
the DL. Have you given up on the Tigers?

Only if Trammel or Piniella have devine inspiration. Living near Chicago and being stuck watching them most of my life I can tell you it is a losing culture that tolerates losing.
They blame everyone but the players (remember the NLCS foul ball incident - they seem to have not noticed the error and awful Wood performance that happened afterward - but yeah, sure, blame the fan for catching a ball hit right to him!).

Georgie Porgie, why are you going to be a huge cubbies fan?? Get used to disappointment, then! They choke worse than my cardinals!
p.s. Piniella is going to be a big improvement over Dusty Baker, but it's going to take more than that.

No-they are the Cubs. Their function in life is to lose- If they had Henry Aaron at his prime, he couldn't help the Cubs win
