You might need to shange the refresh rate, but it really does sound like you have the wrong video card driver. It is close, because it works to a point (it isn't 640X489 vga) but it isn't all working. The drive is the first thing I would look at.

You need to:
1) Update the drivers
Failing that:
2) Test the monitor on annother computer, laptop (as an external monitor) or at a friends house to ensure it is not a software issue!
If it is a software issue and changing the drivers does not help, then it is a windows error and you should re-install the operating system (i had a similar problem with win 95 that required me to restart it like that).

Hi!
There seems to be a problem with the refresh rate. Try changing your video card refresh settings. If this doesn't work, switch to 1024*768 then go to Start>Run>dxdiag go to the last tab and down there is a button to overwrite settings (refresh ones) type either 60 or 72. When in 60Hz mode... you'll feel like using an "ancient" 14'' monitor.
Of course, you can try: PowerStrip (if I recall correctly) to enhance your video settings.
Good luck.
