1. Download the tool from the link below:
http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix.zip
Extract all the contents of the tool on your desktop.
2. Double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
3. Select 1 and hit Enter to create a report of the infected files. The report can be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt
4. Reboot your computer in Safe Mode (before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually)
5. Double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
6. Select 2 and hit Enter to delete infect files.
7. You will be prompted: Do you want to clean the registry ? answer Y (yes) and hit Enter in order to remove the Desktop background and clean registry
keys associated with the infection.
8. The tool will now check if wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found): Replace infected file ? answer Y (yes) and hit Enter to restore a clean file.
9. A reboot may be needed to finish the cleaning process. The report can be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt

First make a backup of your registry.
Click on start > run . Type regedit. press OK.
the registry editor window opens.click on File > Export.
Save the file by giving it a name.It will create a registration entries file in my documents folder.
Then click on Edit > Find. Type safeieweb click on Find Next. The search will stop at the entry containing safeieweb , read it once to make sure it is safeieweb. Then click on the entry in the right panel and press delete key or right click and select delete. Press Ok to confirm deletion. Now press F3 to search again. Delete the entry if found. Continue till you finish searching through registry.

it probably set it self some how as your homepage you can change it by going to the tools option at the top of page click internet options and the first tab "general" the top box type in the page you want as your homepage then click use current and ok. should change the homepage for you.

Go to start then click control pannel then click Internet Opitions then in front of the Address caption type the address of your homepage...if htis does not work try deleting your history and cookies and tempory files..... if this does not work then click on use blank....

Hi!
This is a browser hijack. Try using Ad Aware 6 to get rid of these pesky windows. This adware usually features some sort of adware downloading software thus, in no time, you'll get some "bonus" :( toolbars and so on...

Use Spybot and AdAware.
Run Spybot first.
And before running those, run any anti-virus program you might have.
If that doesn't fix the problem, download Hijack This and post the log on here or their website.....someone will be able to tell you what you need to manually delete.

I helped a woman yesterday with this and after running ad-aware,avg,Norton,etc the only thing that would remove it is spy bot search & destroy.
