If our Country was founded for freedom of religion why have Muslims and Athiests been able to forbid our Christianity practiced in Goverment, schools, etc?

We honor their practices and disbelief while abandoning our faith and foundation.

Pilgrams came to America to escape Religious Persecution by their former Governments in Europe. To dominate our Government with ONE form of religion rather than any other is similar I think. Religious freedom to me is to allow Religion in all of it's forms to co-exist peacefully. It does not, in my mind, guarantee one form of religion to dominate all others.

Now, having said that, I also don't agree that we need to remove the word GOD from evrywhere that it exists currently. If we ALL decide that we shouldn't do it any more in the future, then I can agree with that.

Why do you demand that the government schools endorse and promote Christianity? That is contrary to the Non-Establishment clause of the First Amendment. To be fair to everyone, the government must not take sides when it comes to religion. This does not prevent you from believing what you want and practicing your religion. The only restriction is not using the government as a tool for evangelism.. WHY is that so onerous?

Yes, freedom of religion meaning the very reason Christianity should NOT be practiced in gov. and schools. That is called imposing.

Actually, it seems to me that Christianity has wormed its way into every aspect of existence, from forcing Christian morality on the general public to the insane "faith-based" initiatives of George W. Bush's administration.

The USA was not founded as a "Christian" nation. Freedom of religion does not mean the freedom to force everyone to think like you do.

Actually we are not really abandoning them.

We are merely "modifying them" to conform - more or less to todays diversified cultures and societies.

And unfortunately this does seem to be having a detrimental effect on our beliefs by having them exposed less and less all the time.

Keep your beliefs in your heart and soul where no one can take them from you - and forget all of the other "graven images" etc. that are no longer physically present.

As our country has evolved, people of faith have not taken a stand together to fight for what they believe in. It has become a "live and let live" philosphical type of existance. When really we should be standing side by side.
