Silicon. Second most abundant element on earth (second to Oxygen). Mostly found in the form SiO2 or silica (sand). In it's pure form it is shiny, black-ish and has a very geometric shape which shears into sheets similar to graphite (it has the same bonding properties as carbon) that is why it is used in computer chips because it is very flat and can be cut very thin.
