Ive got a very good friend that went overseas. I guess his internet access isnt as reliable as in America, and we use to talk every single day for hours. It sucks when I dont hear from him in a day. Three days with nothing in my inbox feels shitty. Anyway, how do I tell him to try to write more?! without sounding insecure and demanding?

Just tell your friend that the messages are to short you want to know more abot how he is doing!

Write him more often. Maybe he will respond more. Or maybe he is real busy. Just let him know in one of your emails that you really miss the long chats. Subtle hints don't always work, just tell him straight out that you are missing him and his talks. Ask about how life is over there, it may start him opening up more and writing you like crazy.

don't demand or whine, just tell him that you miss your conversations. then if its an issue of access or cost perhaps you'll need to pony up some cash (if he has to pay at an internet cafe for instance) or maybe he's just busy , perhaps you should find a hobby or get out more yourself, not just sit around waiting to talk on the internet....good luck

I don't think it's being insecure and demanding to ask him to write more. It's just showing that you care, and that you miss him. Tell him exactly how you feel!

Let him know that any letter from him is something that would without a shadow of a doubt make your day. Tell him that you need and want to remain in contact with him, and let him know that your friendship with him is very valuable and important.

Just say very gently and with lots of love it would be really nice for him to write you more often that you truly miss him greatly just be honest about it

Hmm maybe he is just too busy trying to get aclimated to the new country. Or purhaps he is just busy.
You need to just write him more. I know I usually respond to every email I get so write him and see if he responds.
Just keep writing him eventually he will get the hint or you will one.

Say "I have noticed that you are very brief in your responses to me. I am very curious as to how you are doing and what you are up to. Please tell me more".

Try a make a little joke out of it.

Maybe you could learn to write or use spell check.....He might not be able to understand you, that could be the reason he is not writing...
