Financially this would help us both. He expects me to contribute to
his expenses even thou we live seperatly and I also have to pay for
my own rent, bills etc. I can not get him to understand that this is
not exceptable

Tell him you won't pay for his bills because they are his bills and not yours. If he can't understand and accept that, then he's very selfish and not good to stay with. If he's already expecting you to "keep" him it's only going to get worse if you do live togerher.

Leave him for someone that will commit to you. You can't make anyone commit. If you force the issue, it will probably turn out badly in the long run.

i think if you're helping him out and you don't live together, HE'S getting his cake and eating it too. You pay your bills and let him pay his and don't force the issue of living together, if it's going to happen, then it'll happen, if not...well. Stop treating him like a baby, unless that's what you want...I've been married a long time and that's my experience...... If his job isn't paying enough and that's why he wants your money too? tell him to get a second job! if he's just spending too much of his paycheck? tell him to grow up and take responsibility of his own finances.......I mean, do you have to wipe his butt for him too?

Why in the world would he expect you to contribute to his expenses and more importantly why are you ? Sounds to me like your being used. He doesn't want to commit, he doesn't want to live together and HE is taking money from you ? I smell a using rat.
