Write everything down.
1. The date it happened, pictures of the location, from several directions. The time of day and the weather conditions. Have names addresses and phone numbers of all witnesses.
2. Get three estimates. Make sure you only include the repairs that actually occurred in this accident.
3. Get the blue book value of your car.
4.Write down everything and how it happened the day of the accident.
5. Make sure you have a copy of the Police Report.
Your insurance company should repair everything over the deductible. But you may have to take him to court for the deductible. $500.00 or $1000.00 whichever you have.
Make absolute certain that your paperwork is thorough and complete before you go to court.

what these folks are saying about insurance and/or going to court is true if your state has what is called "no-fault" insurance. That's sort of the new standard, and it means that your insurance company will fix your car no questions asked, and then your insurance company will try to get money out of this 22 year old.
If the 22 year old can't pay for your repairs, they will wreck the kid's credit rating, zero out their checking account balance, and keep it up until the kid pays, which may take 10 years or so. They might also put the kid on a payment plan of $50 per month, that happens sometimes too.
But, you'll get your money either way. One thing to ask yourself is, do you want this kid to pay? Is it worth it, wrecking this kid's future, to get your check for a few dents?

Take him to court for the repair expenses, Your insurance will fix the damages to the car and increase your insurance policy. At 22years old the person should already know that he/she should not drive a car with no insurance. Maybe he/she does not have a job either, but this should make him or her to go get a job and be responsible for their actions. Too many people are hurt or killed on the street, road, highways or beltways now by people who are not insured and responsible.

Your insurance should provide coverage for you, most have a provision for being in an accident with an uninsured driver. File a police report as well. You may have grounds for a civil action (lawsuit) against the other driver or the person whose car he was driving as well. Even though the kid may have no assets at present, any judgment you get against him/her may payoff down the road.

I don't think you can legally drive without insurance. Is there a police report? File a claim with your insurance company and let them go after the kid.

File under your uninsured/underinsured coverage. If you don't have it, then you will have to file under your collision. You have to pay the deductible of course. Then you can sue him for the damages. It may take years, but I am sure if he is working, they can garnish his wages and get your deductible back and pay the insurance company back for all the money paid out.

get details of him and his car. take photo's of your car and report it to police. you can put it through your insurance and you pay the excess, then take out a cival suit to recover the cost of the excess paid by you.
Or get a quote on your car (usually 3 quotes) and take it to the offender or his parents to see if they will give you the money. tell him or them you thought you would give them the chance first to do the right thing before you take legal action. You may be suprised with cash.

What would you do if you were in any accident? Report it to your insurance. They will handle everything about getting you car fixed and medical (if you have it). What more do you need? Just report it and move on.

Sue him. If you have uninsured motorist coverage, file a claim with your insurance company under that coverage. Otherwise it goes on your collision coverage. If you don't have collision or UIM coverage, you're pretty much stuck with suing the bugger.
