Before 1918 only men were allowed to vote. Women aged 30 or over gained the right to vote in 1918 – the same year that women were first able to be MPs – but it was not until 1928 that the voting age for women was lowered to 21 (the same age as for men at that time).

I forgot the lady's first name, but her last name was Balck I think. She started a lot of womens rights in 1918, thru the 1920's
