I live in north Missouri. Will they grow here?

Well, in N. MO you live in Zone 5a and can grow stuff in a 4b or a 5b. Lucky for you.... Persimmons are hardy down to a zone 5. Just be sure to place plenty of mulch around their base during the winter.

Japanese persimmons can be bought right now for maybe the next few weeks a sbare root stock from many gardening suppliers, like Gurneys.com, or greenwood nursery, both whom I highly recommend, or maybe even at Lowes or Home Depot. I know I've seen them there. I just dont look for them as I dont like persimmons. But they will grow just fine in your area.

might be too cold in Missouri. I purchased mine at K-Mart one year during bare root season. I live in California and it is doing very well. Check you garden book or a local nursery before you plant so you are not heart broken.
