Hi,
I am an ultrasound tech.
Do you want to know or don't want to know? If you don't want to know then don't think about it. Yes, it could be the cord or a hand in between the legs. Yes, dilated kidneys are more common in boys than girls.
It sounds like you may have another ultrasound to check the kidneys. Instead of driving yourself crazy, just find out!
I hope you have a healthy pregnancy and healthy baby.
Take care, Lisa

Don't lose all hope! I have 5 girls and 1 boy. I had twins my last pregnancy of course girls and they both had dilated kidneys. It could be the umbillical cord, doubtful its a hand. I'm not a psychic but i think your having a boy!! Now think of the future, with four sons ,which im sure are gorgeous, imagine all the girlfriends they will have when they get older, you will have 4 daughter in-laws. I think it would be great to have four sons. I know what you mean though ,i wanted a son so bad. Eventually i got one,but i never thought it would happen. I know you probably wanna dress then up in all the cute clothes and do their hair, but one day i'm sure you will have some grand-daughters,and that will be a blast.I'm tryin to find some light at the end of the tunnel for you!! IWIsh you all the luck in the world, and i'm sure either way you will be happy.I hope i helped atleast a tiny bit..Take Care...

It could have been the cord or anything.. If you wanted to know you should have asked.. If mostly boys run in your or your hubby's family you could be having a boy.. I got lucky my first child was a girl then had four boys.. (2 of which have passed away) Never happened but I was still happy with what god gave me..Congradulations and GOOD LUCK

It takes a trained professional to know and even then they only give you a 98% prediction. If you really want to know if you're having a boy you will need to ask the Ultrasound Tech. It's hard when you think you saw something. Good Luck.

I can't tell details, myself, on ultrasounds. My brother in law was able to see that his unborn child would turn out to be a son, though. He was right. The little pee pee would be pretty little, though.

If you don't want to know, then stop speculating. If it is a little boy, welcome him to the world. He'll have three brothers to teach him all the mischief.
