No, just because your baby is Bi-racial doesnt mean he/she will be born with defects or at a higher risk... I think bi-racial babies are beautiful.. I have a brother and a neice that is bi-racial..

I have 6 bi-racial children, and they are perfect. I wouldn't say race is the issue. You and your man are both human so you have the same chances as any other human of having defects. I am not trying to make you feel stupid with your question, but you didn't procreate with an alien. Now as far as defects go its family history. Your family or his family may pass on a defective gene, but mixing races does not put your child at a higher risk.

Bi-racial babies are not at any higher of a risk than any other child. Birth Defects mainly depend on what you do to your bady and the genes from both parents.

Unless there is a history of birth defects on either side, bi-racial is a societal term. There should be nothing that prevents you from having a normal pregnancy, delivery, and beautiful baby.

Why on Gods green earth would you even think that race has anything to do with the outcome of the baby? Thats the most asinine thing I've ever heard.
Immediate family history is the only place you can look for the possible health issues with your child. Genetics are genetics. If grampa had heart disease the child might as well, regardless of what race grampa is.
If anything you're providing your child with a wider and deeper gene pool.

Absolutely not! First of all I am biracial and I had no complications... learning disabilities etc. My children are also biracial including my grandson. I am not sure if someone you know or involved with have a problem with biracial... interracial relationships, but understand it is not the mixture of the blood, color etc. It could be genetic... birth defects that is or perhaps the parents were drug addicts... there are many reasons of high risks to birth defects.

Nope, you should be fine, "humans is humans" so they say. But if you really want to make sure get a genetic screening at your doctors office and try to do the same with the father. If that is impossible, in a couple of months get an amniocentesis to determine if the fetus has any genetic abnormalities. Basically practice the best pre-natal care you can (i.e. take folic acid, eat right, don't smoke/drink) and your baby should be fine. Best of luck.

if in you're close family their was some birth defects
you might have some higher risk but even then it's
never accurate so don't worrie, plus when you go for
you're ultrasound they'll see a perfect and normal baby
i'm sure.don't listen to everything out there and stick to

There's no scientific support for your worry....if both parents are healthy as I assumed you are, there's no way your baby is gonna have higher chances of complications. It's not like that...the race of the parents has nothing to do with birth defects.
