My boyfriend recently got remanded it is not the first time he has been in prison. On the first visit I went to, I was searched as normal, I went into the main hall, sat down but as soon as my partner sat down we kissed each other (just a plain old kiss), next minute an officer came over and said the visit was over because he suspected I had passed him something, which is not true. So now I am on closed visits. This has happened to us before. Scott was searched and nothing was found they said they have video evidence of me trying to regurgetate something in the visits hall and I looked nervous, but after I sent them a letter, they replied saying they had seen me walking down the corridor which leads to the visits hall, I bent down behind my 20 month daughter and put something in my mouth. All this i can tell you is lies. In these cases they show the prisoner video evidence, but they have not, he has taken a urine sample with was negative. Can they do this and what can I do?

That is beyond f*cked up! I don't understand how the law can say we are "innocent until proven guilty" because in reality it's obvious that we are "guilty until proven guilty". They have NO PROOF that you slipped anything to your boyfriend, yet they decided you are guilty! That's bullsh*t and I would highly suggest getting a lawyer. Good Luck hon!

Yes. they have all the power to do so. You cannot in any way get in physical contact with an inmate, even if you did not have any malignent intentions. Mouth to mouth contact will raise suspicions on drug trafficking, passing on a tool (eg a key) which may then be used in evasion, passing on of written codecs (which may be used to hack a system)..... so it does not matter your good intentions, just keep an inch back from your boyfriend while he is in prison.

I am sure they are covering all bases when it comes to physical visits. They can't be too careful, and it's a good thing that they catch every little thing that might look suspicious. I would suggest finding a boyfriend who would set a good example for your child... prison is no place to take children to even if it is the biological father.

You are innocent of any crime and so is your b'f until he is convicted , prisons do have a certain amount of leeway with regards to security but it seems to me that you are being subjected to unfair and unwarranted treatment I suggest you discuss it with a lawyer the law cannot act on allegations without proof , as they have no proof that anything untoward has taken place they have no right to act upon their suspicions .

Consider yourself lucky...the Prison could refuse you ANY visits...never mind closed!

But as countless have said on here already...why hang onto a dead leg?...I would NOT take my kids to a prison visit no matter what...and if he kicked off I'd point out its him behind bars not the kids!

Find yourself someone who is NOT on the revolving door of prison life!

Yeah they can do that, they have the write to read all your letters and basically be a nosy as fcuk.
But you will need a solicitor to fight it, or ask to see the evidence that they have.
Good luck.
