Why all the moaning?

Considering Brits take over places like the Canaries and Spanish Costas every summer and expect the Spanish to like it or lump it, why all the bitching on this site about emmigration into Britain, let face it Britain controlled a fifth of the world at one stage, maybe your past is just coming back to haunt you.
There is nothing great about Britian anymore.

Good point. What is the deal with all this moaning? But on the other hand, what is the deal with the people that come here and moan? I spent 10 years living abroad, didn’t like it and so returned to my country of origin. Immigrants have been coming to England since the time of the Vikings, maybe even earlier so in actual fact most Brits are actually originally from Germany or Scandinavia, in America, apart from American Indians, Americans are Italian, Scandinavian, Irish, German, English etc.., So why keep moaning when people come from abroad, unless of course they fail to contribute when they get here…

Like most things in life, it is a question of balance. Generally I’ve found that you get out of life pretty much what you put into it, so if all you do is moan, then all you will get back is more moaning. Instead of moaning about something that you feel is wrong then start trying to change it instead.

We are very lucky to be living in this day and age, l would like to think that our children and grandchildren whatever their colour or cultural backgrounds, will feel even luckier to be living in their day and age and won’t want to leave their homes for any reason other than to learn and if they like the place they find themselves in if they do move away, that they will make positive contributions if they decide to stay there and that they will feel accepted. But this won’t happen if they don’t in return accept the people and culture that they are going to live amongst.

We can’t change the past, that’s why it is called ‘history’, however we can learn from it and we can change the future.

Everything about the UK is great that's why so many people come here to either live and work or just for a holiday, I don't moan about anyone coming here, this country does not belong to me or anyone else for that matter, I have never been to the Canaries or the Spanish Costa's for a holiday either, I go further afield because its what I want to do, I haven't bitched about any other culture on this site and don't intent to and the reason the UK has owned a fifth of the world at some stage or other is because it was what those countries wanted us to do, don't tie us all with the same brush and unless you have been to our shores then leave your comments at the door in future.

But that is true of anywhere that has a tourist industry. People come, like it, frequently want to buy property. It's just true of the world as it grows smaller with more people. Here, in Canada, just about everybody is buying up our prime seaside. You really have to look all over the world.

The problem is that everyone expects Britain not to change because of its history and the way it has clung to some traditions.
Change is inevitable and not necessarily bad. Isn't there a great irony in Britain's imperialism in India coming back to affect the class system in Britain in an equalizing way?

You've answered your own question - the Brits dont take over permenantly - we come home !!! We dont go abroad and demand to live on their benefit system, move into their housing or bleed their health service dry - for all these things we have to pay. Let people come here if they want - but also let them pay their own way and not ponce from the rest of us and then moan because our country isnt the crap hole which they came from !!!!!!!!

were not exactly 'taking over' and even if we do, u'll probably find most people are retiring/starting new businesses/working/learn the language.... point is they have their OWN money....

WHEREAS.... in Britain we have people coming here illegally and then once they are here (illegal or not) they just f*king scrounge off the government/ AND US/dont pay for anything/dont bother to learn OUR language and moan about it all..... if u dont like then go HOME!

I think we should have a screening process like other countries... like Australia where u have to meet certain criteria 1 of which.. have a skill/trade etc!!

Sorry I have to moan when making love while in UK because its nice and the neighbours do not report me to the police. That is the only time I truly moan. In my own country, which the British used to kill people by hitting them on the head with hammers, those who took over are still doing something similar.

Other times its just a low level whinge. Please ignore it.

yes and the Spanish make millions from us holidaying there,******** its called tourism.[duh] and once we have had our holiday we go home to blighty like others have said we don't go there to claim benefits under some sob story,omg there trying to kill me back home bullshit. fgs we had some Asian women recently claiming she needed to stay here because people took the piss because she was tall.can i have my council house now crap,oh yeah don't forget to put me top of the list in front of the Brits.get a life and stop reading the guardian.

The difference is that (most) immigrants will come here to claim benefits and get council houses which is b*******s. I don't give a rats a**e if you come here to work, but to come here to skive, is not on.
