You can go to the top of your tool bar to where it says Tools, then Internet Options, and then click clear history. If you want to keep it cleared all the time, you can select for it to "keep in history" for 0 days. If you are trying to hide something you looked for someone, you will also need to clear the cache. This is also done on the same section as clearing the history.

1) Uninstall AOL.
2) Find and download a REAL browser not one meant for kids and soccer moms.
3) Install REAL browser.
4) Go to Tools menu, Internet Options (on Internet Explorer) Options (on Firefox), and clear history.

when the dropdown appears, there's probably a link that's highlighted in dark blue. press the DELETE button on your keyboard, the one highlighted will disappear. press DELETE again, the next one will disappear, and the next one, and the next one.. keep on pressing!
there are places that you can click on to make it disappear more easily, but I find this is quicker.
