LONDON is LODNOD !! I have heard it referred to in Essex as LODNOD. One local paper stated "People in Essex love to DRACE IN LODNOD". What is that all about ? It is also stated that people as far apart as Higham and Willenhall refer to "DRACING in LODNOD". So thete must be some truth in it surely. A headine in The Fayido Times states "The Egyptians were seen DRACING IN THE STREETS OF LODNOD". Is this an old custom. ANSWERS PLEASE.

Perhaps it is a nickname, like "The Big Apple" for New York or the "Windy City" for Chicago. It probably started as a simple misspelling and was accepted as an IN name by those who thought it was "cute" (or whatever). Yes, they DO use it -- check google, etc. for threads that refer to it.

As for Dracing, I can only assume it is shorthand for something like drag-racing (yes, this was probably done in chariots long ago!).

Anyway, my two cents!

the Latin word for London is Londinium. There is a gate in an old Roman wall that used to be on the outskirts of London called Lud's Gate and I am right, having read many histories of England, a wealth of English myths and folktales, Lud was a God, or at least a king at one time.
