Hi, I'm just starting to go swimming regularly and am considering buying some goggles to help stop my eyes getting sore from the chlorine. Are there any special things I should know before buying or tips that anyone could suggest? Thanks for looking

i faced the same problem few years ago but then i bought the perfect pair which i have till date...(Speedo Futura Ice)
First of all, press the goggles to your eyes without wearing the sap.If they act as a suction, ure ready to go!
Next, check the strap. It shouldn't be too thin and should ave ridges so that it can be fitted properly.
Also, preferably go for speedo as they have UV coating on their lenses.

1. consider the brand name. speedo and tyr are all excellent
2. when you look at a pair of goggles, make sure it isn't too big or too small for your face
3. you should try on the goggles without using the strap, if there is a bit of suction you have a good fit!
4. ask or make sure that the goggles are either metallic or uv protected to protect your eyes
5. you could also get anti-fog drops in case ur goggles fog up

Ok i swim well over 8 hours a week, i strongly suggest Speedo Speed Socket, they are expensive but well worth it. My other big tip is to try them on with out the strap round your head, if they dont fall away instantly they are a good fit. (by the way, if you have a smaal head go for Speedo Speedsockets Micro)

My swim goggles are Olympus Pacific Sport anti-fog with UV tint on them, and they even come in a hard-case to prevent damage to them in your bag. They have been great. I got them from JJB Sport who have a great range of swim goggles, and stock many of the well-known makes. I paid £7 for mine, so they are not expensive.

Choose some that don't let water in!

as long as they fit comfortably and don't let water through, you're good.
