I like partying, gambling, and most of all women. I've never been to Vegas, and I've heard that you can get just about anything you want there. I'll be there in a couple of weeks for a conference... any suggestions? I don't have a lot of money... maybe a few hundred bucks to play with.

It sounds like most mainstream activities are designed to suck away your money... any local night spots or other forms of entertainment which are more reasonably priced? What do the locals do for fun?

If you like clubs.....You should try the RumJungle, Light, Pure, OPM, Tao, Ghostbar, and maybe Cherry if you can get there. For gambling....you wont have a hard time finding that. If you are into the whole skanky stripclub scene. Try Olympic Gardens, Spearmint Rhino, Little Darlings, Deja Vu, or Treasures. If you only have a couple hundred dollars....I would recommend staying AWAY from the strip clubs or the clubs because normally at the club it is $20 to get in and drinks are in excess of $8 each. Luckily for me I am a local and we get in free to most places!

No money, no play. Despite advertisements around town to the contrary, there's no such thing as a free lunch. And Las Vegas casinos don't rack up billions of dollars in profit a year by being stupid.

You'll get your dinner and show comps only *after* losing thousands at the tables or slot machines. If you got a nice room for real cheap, expect to pay through the nose for food. If you're getting lots of free drinks, it's only to impair your judgment so you'll gamble more. In the unlikely event that showgirls express any interest in you, they'll expect you to pay for their needs 100%. Doormen will expect $2.00 tips for the pleasure of having someone else open doors for you. Everything in Vegas is designed to separate you from your money.

However, once you accept this premise (that it is your money, not you, that's of interest to the locals)...it is possible to have fun. Costs:

Famous Production Shows and Headliners: $100.00 - $150.00
Can-Can/Showgirl Kitsch Shows: $30.00 - $50.00
Dinner at a nice hotel restaurant: $80.00 - $100.00 (a person)
Dinner Buffets: $21.00 - $30.00 (a person)
Drinks: $8.00 - $12.00 (per cocktail)
"1 dollar" slots: $3.00 - $5.00 dollars per pull (you don't get a full payout if you don't play more than the minimum)
"25 cent" slots: 75 cents per pull (3 credits required for full payout)
"5 cent" slots: 25 cents per pull (5 credits required for full payout..see how it works?)
Nightclub cover charge: $20.00 on average
Nude Clubs: $20.00 cover + $10.00 drink minimum (or a full $30.00) on average. Does not include dancers' tips.

Try the Palms. Between Rain and Ghostbar in the main tower there's a huge hot crowd. And now they have the new tower including the Playboy Club! You can't go wrong there!
