i think GTA wins over all,no other game franchise has lasted over two consoles,except MGS and Crash Bandicoot

The best games for the PS2 would be the Grand theft Auto series, Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition Remix, Naruto: Ultimate Ninja, Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi, Kingdom Hearts 2, Katamari Damaci, God of War, and King Kong

GTA: San Andreas rules.
But as for other game franchises, what about Street Fighter 2.
I've playing that on 4 different consoles now and Resident Evil is still going strong. And I'm looking forward to the new Gran Turismo game which will be on it's 3rd console.

That is a tough question. I have to say kingdom hearts 1 or 2 though. Both are amazing games and a blast to play. However, having just played Okami, it sure makes a good run for second.

In my opinion Kingdom Hearts 2 is the best game on PS2 as it combines RPG with great graphics, nice story, colorful scenery great characters and good gameplay too. It depends on the kind of games that someonee likes...
