I watched this film when I was younger, (i hid behind the sofa so my parents didnt know) I cant remeber what it was about all I remember is the ending. It was a woman in prison and she asked the carpenter to help her escape in a coffin, (she pretended to be dead) and then he would go dig her coffin up so she could escape. That all happened and when she had been buried she lit a match and the carpenter was dead next to her. My memory is a bit fuzzy as this was about 20 years ago. Any one have any clue what film this is??

It's one of Alfred Hitchcock series. I was really impressed with the idea.
The woman got what she deserved for lying to the old carpenter. Earlier on he received a transfer letter that he has been waiting for years, but since he had cataracts, he could not read properly so he asked the woman to read for him. She said the application was rejected, which in fact was granted, because she needed the carpenter's help in her escape bid. I still remember when the woman was in coffin, she laughed victoriously, then when she lit a match and saw the dead body next to her was the carpenter, she screamedddd..in the middle of deserted graveyard.. buried alive.. Creepy...
Another Alfred Hitchcock series, where there was a man who was in accident. Everybody thought he was dead, in fact he was still alive, but he could not say anything, or move, and his eyes were wide open just like dead people. When the autopsy was about to be performed on him, he begged and screamed, but nobody could listen, he could see the knife was about to cut open his body.. then somehow the medical officer saw tears running through his eyes, then immediately stopped the autopsy process. While he was lying, thinking he was safe, somehow a mentally disturbed patient approached his bed, holding a knife ready to cut open him. This patient was apparently whose life has been ruined by this man...
Must admit Alfred is a really genious...

Definately a Tales from the Crypt film.
Otherwise it could be twilight zone or Outer Limits. It's a pity you didn't remember any of the actors that starred in it.
