You will get different answers for this question. The basic positions are as follow:
Goalie: player that protect the goal and can grab the ball with his hands.
Defender: it could be 3 or 4 players depending on the formation, stay back and help the goalie.
Midfielders: they help attack and defend. This position is the hardest because the players do the most running.
Forwards: usually 2 or 3 players, their job is to try to score goals.

Left back, Right back, Full back are defenders guarding their respective parts of the field. Sometimes a sweeper or stopper is also present at the centre, if not also called the full-back. The goalkeeper guards the goal. Strikers aim to score goals, also known as forwards, left, right and centre. Midfielders are between the strikers and the defenders. There is another position called the right-outside, for you and me when we are not playing or if we are booted off the pitch.

Most commonly, you'll see the goalkeeper, left/right backs, centre backs, central midfielders, attacking midfielders, wingers, strikers, and centre forwards...Throw in a few other specific defenders and midfielders...An easy way of saying it, goalkeeper, defenders, midfielders, and forwards. But there are many different types of each which all have different tasks. I suggest this site, wikipedia. It's pretty in depth...
