I used to be nervous as a young man but haven't been so for many years. The nervousness disappeared when I thought about some developments in my early life which I did not understand when they happened but which I slowly came to understand as I matured. If your nervousness has a cause of this sort you may wish to find out what it might be and come to terms with it. If it is purely external, taking a deep breath, eating at the right times (you can be nervous from hunger), telling yourself that you have no particular reason to be nervous, and other methods outlined in Counselling books might help. Best wishes.

Depends on the situation.
I sometimes get nervous when I am meeting a group of strangers for the first time, like at a party or something.

Sometimes people get nervous for no reason, like when they are just sitting there and thinking about things that worry them, but this called anxeity.

Being nervous is something EVERYBODY feels from time to time. It is a normal and healthy part of life.
Self confidence is the key, you can't help getting nervous but you can help reduce it. You have to trust and care about yourself in order to gain self confidence. Ask people who you trust (parents, older brother or sister, close friends) to honestly tell you what your good and bad points are (not whether they like you or not). It will help you see that people who do like you, like you (good points) for who you are, the bad points are things you can work on to get more self confidence.

When I feel nervous I try to think it through, and relax.

The best thing u can do is relax...........take a minute and step back a bit.........breathe....think good thoughts and most importantly RELAX. Don't worry too much about the outcome. Hold the attitude "WHO CARES' and u will b fine. U will pull thru. Good Luck and relax.....nothing in life is really that bad.

Try to take deep breathes and relax. Taking deep breathes and concentrating on something positive helps me. I get really nervous around people but I try to stay calm and relax otherwise, I'd trip over my feet.

depends on how nervous you get, if you can deal with it try thinking about things to distract yourself, get plenty of exercise and sleep. but if nerves or panic attacks start to take over your life, get help, medicine and talking really do help, and they can help you get a normal life back
