You know I read your question with great interest.
Last March I was diagnosed with an illness....won't go into details but it ended up me having to have two operations which have left me facially disfigured.
Before this, I was a chubby happy person who always prided herself in appearance. Wore make up, only the best, and wore the best clothes I could afford. I was always wondering what people thought about me and felt self conscious and often miserable, like you, for no real apparent reason...just depressed and felt ugly.
Now I have been told I'm lucky if I'll see next Xmas and you know, I feel so silly to have worried about a spot on the chin, or my hair didn't exactly do what I wanted it to. You know, life really is short and if I feel miserable I take stale bread to the park to feed the ducks or if I'm lucky do a bit of retail therapy. I know you can always find someone worse off than yourself but sitting and feeling sorry for yourself will just make you feel even worse. I have a lovely network of family and friends that are so supportive to me and I hope you have too. There is always me to chat to now.
Hope I've been a little help....come on, bet you're a really lovely person.

My mum would say you should chant (she's an SGI buddhist).. i don't really understand it but it's got something to do with karma and positivity. I'm not a buddhist, but chanting does make me feel better about things when I'm really low or worried.
If that sounds stupidly spiritual to you, then perhaps you should try having a new haircut, or a bit of colour could make you feel different about yourself. Maybe you just need a mini holiday, like a day of pampering at a spa like the Sanctuary or something to make you feel special?
Always remember that you're beautiful inside as well as out... maybe you should have a girls night out (or in) with friends who really appreciate you. It always makes me feel better about myself.
Hope this helps a bit.. x x x

Don't try to change the way you look! Get some lovely smelling bubble bath, face pack, bright nail varnish, funny chick flick and some mates round your house.
Have a bath with the face pack on and candles to help you relax. Do your nails and toes nails. Get the girls round with some wine (if your over 18) put the film on and have a right old giggle.
Or just go out clubbing and have a laugh.

I know its hard but dont let it worry you. Dont spend hours at a mirror wishing you looked different, or go through celeb mags looking at the 'perfect people'. Just accept you are who you are, and people will love you for it. Everyone feels down in the dumps at times, and different people have different ways to deal with it. Personally, I like listening to a few tunes (try happy/upbeat ones!!) for a few hours and I feel much better afterwards!! Good luck and be happy.x

perhaps you should consider some counseling. It may be that your depression or feeling of being down in the dumps is an emotional situation, or could even be a physical, go see your physician and have some blood tests run. Or could be present circumstances going on in your life. I personally, have been having a very rough time also. i find reading my bible and praying have been a tremendous comfort for me. good luck and God bless

Have your hair done!!
Even if you just have a colour change or just a wash and blowdry, you WILL feel better......DONT look at mags and compare yourself to everyone in there, i used to model the girls really dont look like that all the time! Try going to the gym or a group for fitness, it will energize you
good luck!

You're obviously in a rut (we all get in one from time to time). Try doing something different...go to a museum, take a walk in an arboretum or botanical garden, do some volunteer work...just do something different to break the monotony. Hope you feel better soon.

go pole dancing classes. they will definitely get you toned up and feeling sexy all at the same time. i've heard it has actually helped many women who haven't been feeling too good about themselves for whatever reason. For example one woman just hated her body and the way it looked after she had just beaten breast cancer. But pole dancing helped her regain her confidence and made her feel great again. you should try it - it's something different too!
