In a world so messed up by violence in the media, it makes me wonder if there is anyone for our kids to look up to. Man alive, we cannot even have them look up to our world leaders because they've set the world stage with turmoil and an absence of morals.

Of course it can exist an hero. It can be near you. Your mother, your father, sister, brother or even a friend. They are alive. Anyone can have an hero. If you mean someone "important"... Isnt your family important to you? Its the closest way to find a hero near you.

That is why they have you and me and the cub scout leader down the street. This is the age of the ordinary hero. The father(SUPER DAD), The friend (KID ALWAYSTHERE), The uncle(CREEPYJOE). OOPS! He would be a nemesis. I am serious though anyone can be a hero to a child. All it takes is the will and Good intention too try. Be a hero today you wont be sorry.

yes i belive that someone could still have a hero. If someone's words or personality influences you to make a change in your life or in others lives. I konw it may seem hard these days due to the increase in violence. but what do you truly define as a hero. Is it someone who does good. or someone that just makes an impact in your life that you may veiw as positive. so i mean, even a drug dealer on the street could have a hero, but it may not seem like it to you b/c of what their profession may be. So i would have to say the first you have to do is define what a hero means to you.

You have a good point. But they can look up to you. I mean wouldn't you want you kids looking up to you as an hero stead of the president, or any of these celebrities that are just entertaining the world for money? I know I would. My hero is my mom =).
