If your talking about ferdinand magellan, then history books will tell you that he was killed in the Philippines by a tribal leader named Lapu-lapu or at least by his (lapu-lapu's) army.

That's so easy... Lapu-Lapu!

Lapu-Lapu was considered to be the first Filipino hero, for he saved the island of Cebu which Spaniards tried to claim. The story was that Magellan and his crew were asked to go to an island called "Mollucas" in Asia and obtain some spices. As they pursued Asia (BTW, they discovered that the Earth is round in their journey), and tried to find the island called Mollucas, they ACCIDENTALLY found the island of Cebu, which is in the Philippines.

What if Magellan did try to claim Cebu, will Philippines will be a Spanish-speaking country nowaday, not English?

But thanks to Magellan as well, for he introduced Christianity to the Filipinos as Christianity is well-seen and became one of the official religions of the Philippines.

Thanks for asking!

Trivia: Ferdinand Magellan was the first European to land on the Philippines.

He was in the Phillipines and the natives there killed him. However, his remaining crew and ship sailed around the world

Huh? He dropped off the edge of the earth, while attempting to sail around it, of course. This is in the wrong forum, too.
