For the same reason he couldn't be found during the Vietnam war. He can freely send others to die, but he doesn't have the courage to face conflict without a boat load of advisers.

He was "hiding" with a whole herd of press around him. CBS ran a special on Sept 11 2002 that dealt with the Bush administration during the 24 hours following the attacks.
There is protocol to follow and securing the President is the number one priority.
As for his "hide-outs" - he was in Florida at a school when it happened, he then circled in the air for hours to keep on the move, then he went to Norad to hang out at military Command Central.

speaking from some experience the reason it seems like bush was hiding during 911 was (1) for protection reason, (2) so the terrorist would not know where or how to locate him(3) when the united states is under attack the first thing to do is to protect the president and the congress. ask a better question

For the same reason everyone in both the House and Senate were hiding, to protect our leadership. As much as I disagree with some of the views of the people who make decisions for me, I agree with what they did. Bush may have been in physical "hiding" but he was very much at work trying to determine the best way to deal with the problem at hand. Criticize him all you want for what he did, but I doubt Gore would have done any different.

Seems as though I saw him on TV at the world trade center while victims were being removed from the debris. Some more of the left wing BS, I suppose.

I do not like Bush, but...the first thing the Secret Service is supposed to do is take the president to a secure location. This is policy. I never thought he ran to hide. The SS did their job, so quit whining.

Actually, it was Chaney that couldn't be found, not Bush. Makes you wonder who really is in charge in DC, doesn't it. "Cut and Run" is the euphemism the Repubs use in characterizing the Dems. The Repubs want to "Stay the Course", at least until yesterday, because it meant more Americans losing their lives in this civil war is acceptable.

Oh stop it :(
His life was in danger they didn't know who was attacking the U.S,
I remember that day very well there was fear in the air, confusion,
and chaos everywhere I've never seen anything like it.

Think about it... if the country was under attack the first thing is to protect the president and keep him safe, so he can keep control and order of the country!

Questions like yours are really getting old. No one is paying attention and it's shows your own lack of intelligence and narrow thinking.
