Since you like Christine Feehan, you might also like Maggie Shayne's Twilight series.

know you said no vampire books...but I think Twilight is great! It's a good book and it's in a humans point of view, not a vampires! It's also a movie. There's: Twilight; New Moon; Eclipse; and Breaking Dawn... Though Breaking Dawn is not out in the cinema's yet... If not Twilight, then how about some Jaqueline Wilson books? They're awesome!!! And really funny. Hope I helped(:

Ive recently started reading Jude Deveraux which is primarily romance oriented, but if you're looking for a great mix of both try Catherine Coulter for starters - she has a lot of romance only but theres also quite a few mystery romance too, and Tami Hoag, most of hers are mystery with a dash of romance, some books have more than others. Hope to have given you some good ones.

It sounds cheesy, but I really like Danielle Steele. :) I've read Nora Roberts, but I couldn't really get into her books. As far as mysteries, I really like Iris Johansen as well. She's great. Dean Koontz is also a great writer, as well as Patricia Cromwell. Good luck in your search!

Well, if you likemystery you should try books with short stories of Alfred Hitchcock, try Agatha Christie. Or maybe try reading Stephen King, of course not all of them are about mistery but some are quite good.
