Queenie- Pythagoras theorum states that the area of the square on the Hypotanuse of a right angled triangle is equal to the sum of the area of the squares on the other two sides.
They made us memorise that in school and i can still remember it, been of no bloody use to me in life whatsoever though.

why should we? Just because some people can answer some of the more indepth questions, surely that helps the person asking the question. We dont all profess to know everything but if we do know the answer why shouldnt we help someone out by answering it. I could say other things here but i'll refrain from lowering myself....thanx

Well said, Angel.... I picked up my 14 year old neice's Maths homework and had to put it down in shame.... I didn't understand any of it... if Excel can't work it out then neither can I?
Why don't they teach kids useful stuff like doing their self assessment tax return and how to fiddle the Inland Revenue, much more useful that pythagorus's rule... you see, I don't even know if I've even spelled that correctly.... bugger and balls!

Perhaps you need a different view point. If there were no clever people to answer the questions then there would be no need for Yahoo Answer (as nothing would get answered) and you would have no forum to post your question. Supply and demand.
