Well here in MA where I live it is not allowed in restaurants any more, which I totally agree with since second hand smoke is more dangerous. As for other public places as long as there is a section aside for smoking away from the common people than I have no problem with it, like if it's outside.

Bravo! ..They just enacted a non smoking law in the state of Colorado this past July 1st. Many bar owners and restaurant owners ,not to mention pool hall operators which there are many in the Denver area, have file a class action law suit and lost their right to appeal to the State Supreme court.
This country has turned into a Fascist Neo Nazi state and our freedoms are being taken away from us one by one.
Our founding fathers I am sure are turning over in their graves.I wonder what U.S. Grant former president would have to say about the smoking bans in states,or Teddy Roosevelt,or Franklin for that matter.

I totally agree. If it's that bad, ban it, make it illegal, once and for all. And besides, it's so rediculous, smokers have been forced out onto the streets to have a smoke, which they often are happy to do, and people are still happy. I know my smoking friends are much more considerate of their smoke than my non-smoking friend, and most smokers I know will ask if people mind if they smoke, and will also often sit outside facing into the wind so as not to bother others. For god's sake, let them smoke in peace!!!

Thank you, I have watched over the years the government slowly take away our rights, now if your a criminal even non violent you can not posses a firearm and I believe that I learned in school that the right to bear arms is in the constitution. Not the right to bear arm unless you do such & such. Also freedom of speech but you can go to jail if you tell a cop to **** off and go to hell you fat bastard. Pretty soon it will be like Russia

im not a smoker but i do like my rights, banning or taxing tobacco and alcohol is really not what it seems to be. In my opinion they act like it is to protect us but if this were true it would be illegal, but the government makes to much money from taxes off tobacco and alcohol to ban it so if you ask me its discrimination just like any other kind of discrimination they are singleing out a certain group of people and persicuting them the deal is if we let them do this whats next people who eat chocolate not everybody like chocolate lets raise the tax on it to protect the citizens this is just a erosion of our rights they will keep taking them little by little until we have none

"If you hate it so much stay away from it!" I think this is the problem. One cannot stay away from it if it is allowed in indoor public spaces.
I am not against people being able to choose smoking if they wish but I am against irresponsible smoking. I think that it should be considered a form of child abuse to smoke in the same air space as a child. And I think that smokers and cigarette manufacturers should be liable for any damages to the health of non-smokers which can be proven to be caused by cigarette smoke.
So would you be for or against a law which would prohibit someone from spraying an aerosol can full of toxic, cancer-causing chemicals into a public airspace?

Hey, if Americans don't get off their duff, and start being vigilent about how our rights are eroding away to nothing, and do something about it, we won't have any rights left.
