My Grandfather died a few years ago and I only just found out that I was suppose to have his medals being the eldest grandson. His medals were lost to a house fire before he died, but I would like to know what medals he had and where can I get copies or replasment for them. I do not know his servise number, only that he was in the Royal Artilary and the Desert Rats.

you can go to your local recruiting office and ask someone who might know some for sure answers, they are usaully more then happy to help you if you lead them to beleive they could persuede you into joining, lol. but you could also research where he mighta been stationed, so you could post some blogs. like if you know his last duty station base. you can look up that base online, and send an email . i wish i could help you more. and if i speak with my husband who is military maybe he might have a better idea and i'll add more to this later if he knows a better plan, good luck and do lots of research, of where he has been and do a walk backwards thru his life to get you where you need to be. if you find a list of what medals he had, you can replace probly all of them at a military base, or at an army surplus where they sell military peices.
