It goes through the shutdown procedure ok but then just hangs on the default blue screen. I have uninstalled/reinstalled broadband software, which modem runs through USB port, but no improvement. Can anyone help?

Download updated drivers for the USB broadband modem. Or remove it entirely and use a network connection instead of USB.
