A right trapezoid is just like an ordinary trapezoid, except one of its base angles is a right angle. This, of course forces the angle immediately above the base angle which is right to also be right.

Imagine a rectangle ABCD where AB parallel CD and BC parallel to AD.Now pick a point somewhere on CD and call it E. Now draw the line BE. Then ABED is a right trapezoid.

ok. they're comparable triangles. The angles may be the comparable and each and all the size, sizes, lengths... notwithstanding... are going to be in the comparable share. And, you have the share: AB = 3 and DE (the corresponding area of an identical triangle) = 5 So.... 3:5 = 4.5:X; 3/5 = 4.5/X; 3X = 22.5; X = 7.5 i might quite want to no longer be a discomfort in the butt... yet i want to lecture you for a 2d: i quite have self belief you faked your self out in this. you comprehend what a "comparable triangle" is. you comprehend the angles are the comparable. Did you draw a speedy comedian strip? (I did!) Then, you flow with your gut: If a line in the small triangle is 3 - and the "comparable" line in the different triangle is 5 - then a 6 in the small would be a 10 in the large, 30 in one would be 50 in the different, 15 grows to twenty-5, etc... and X = 5/3 x 4.5 = 7.5

quadrilateral. One set of opposite sides is parallel. The other set of opposite sides have equal length. Opposite angles are supplemental. both sets of base angles are congruent. midpoint is at intersection of the two diagonals.
