March 2005 in Nagasaki, Japan one occured. It was the first earthquake to hit that area in 116 years. I was here for it!

Earthquakes do NOT have names.

The big one in December 2004 with a magnitude of over 9, i think.

a earthquake occured in hawaii a few weeks ago, but I don't think thay had a name for it, I don't believe they name eartquakes like they do Hurricanes

They don't have names. The place where it happened is the name, for instance Loma Prieta (California)1989.
