Comet (or maybe its Currys) is currently advertising a Bosch 1200 spin machine for £299, I know this is a little over your £250 budget but it is good value for a Bosch, I have had 2 Bosch machines and both have been very good indeed.

bindesh is right bosch are the best, go online at curry,s and comet you will get one at that price. 3 washes a week mines been going 3 years no probs

hotpoint or hoover some others are cheaper but are more expensive to repair
